New Packages and Features for 2025 Transit and E-Transit

November 11th, 2024 by

Ford has equipped its Transit and E-Transit vans with a suite of updates for 2025, designed to enhance versatility and streamline the setup process for businesses. Known as America’s best-selling gas and electric van lineup, the Transit and E-Transit now come with factory-integrated trade packages and interior accessory kits, each tailored to meet the specific demands of different industries. These enhancements include competitive MSRPs, giving customers more flexibility to choose between gas or electric powertrains depending on their unique business needs. As Ford’s van lineup evolves, the company continues to prioritize customization, allowing business owners to create mobile workspaces tailored to their operations.

A standout addition to the 2025 Transit lineup is the introduction of four factory-installed trade packages, each crafted with components from Ranger Design and tailored to support key trades. By integrating these packages directly at the factory, Ford shortens the order-to-delivery time, making it easier for tradespeople to hit the ground running with a fully outfitted van. Each trade package comes with a three-year, 36,000-mile warranty, with service available at over 2,800 Ford dealerships nationwide, ensuring that businesses receive ongoing support. To streamline the buying process, customers can also finance these packages along with their vehicle purchase, eliminating the need for separate financing arrangements for custom upfits.

These factory-installed packages cater to a range of industries, including electrical work, HVAC, general contracting, and delivery services. The Electrician Package, starting at an MSRP of $4,370, includes drawers, bins, and reels specifically designed for organizing tools and wiring, making it easier for electricians to carry everything they need in a well-organized space. For HVAC professionals, the HVAC Package starts at $4,440 and features large shelves, storage bins, and specialized racks to secure refrigerants safely, ensuring technicians have a practical, secure layout for their equipment.

Meanwhile, general contractors can benefit from the General Contractor Package, which begins at $2,900 and offers a versatile mix of shelves, bins, hooks, and drawers to store various tools and supplies. Delivery service providers can take advantage of the Foldable Shelving Package, priced at $3,300, which provides deep, large-capacity folding shelves designed to maximize storage flexibility. These trade-specific packages not only save time and money but also enhance each van’s functionality, helping businesses stay organized and efficient on the job.

In addition to these trade packages, Ford has introduced new optional features to further customize the 2025 Transit’s functionality. The Wall Liner Kit, available in both regular and long lengths, covers the ceiling, walls, and doors, creating a finished, protected interior to better support upfit equipment. Another new option, the Large Grab Handles Kit, provides two D-pillar grab handles, which help with easier access for workers frequently entering and exiting the van. Ford has also upgraded its Mobile Power Cord, now including a fast-charger adapter, which is ideal for electric fleets that require efficient on-the-go charging.

Fleet managers may also appreciate Ford’s new Smart Acceleration Truncation feature, which limits acceleration based on the vehicle’s payload to encourage smoother starts and stops, improving both fuel efficiency and safety. For better access to cargo areas, Ford has also standardized the 180-degree opening for all low- and medium-roof cargo vans, while high-roof models now offer a 253-degree opening as an option, making rear cargo entry more convenient.

For businesses considering a shift to electric, the E-Transit offers compelling reasons to make the change, particularly in terms of cost savings. Ford estimates that the E-Transit can reduce scheduled maintenance costs by up to 48% compared to its gas and diesel counterparts, providing a meaningful reduction in operational expenses for both small businesses and large fleets. Additionally, there are federal, state, and local incentives available to help offset the costs of electric vehicles and charging infrastructure, making the transition to electric more financially accessible.

Ford has also introduced a $2,000 rebate for eligible commercial customers who invest in Ford Pro’s charging solutions, further incentivizing the move to electric. Through Ford Pro’s software and charging infrastructure, fleet managers can ensure their vehicles are charged and ready to go while also benefiting from enhanced monitoring capabilities. This combination of tools helps minimize downtime and optimize fleet productivity, making the E-Transit a smart choice for forward-thinking businesses.

Starting prices for the 2025 Transit lineup reflect Ford’s commitment to making these versatile vans accessible to a wide range of businesses. Both the gas and electric Transit cargo van models begin at $51,000, while the E-Transit Chassis Cab is priced at $46,200, and the E-Transit Cutaway starts at $45,700. With competitive pricing, Ford offers business owners a solid return on investment by providing work-ready vans that cater to the needs of tradespeople, contractors, and delivery services alike.

These latest updates to the 2025 Ford Transit and E-Transit demonstrate Ford’s dedication to innovation and customer satisfaction in the commercial vehicle market. By offering customizable options, enhanced accessories, and a seamless financing process, Ford ensures that its vans remain more than just vehicles; they are adaptable mobile workspaces that support businesses’ day-to-day needs. As industries increasingly explore the advantages of electric vehicles, Ford’s E-Transit stands out with its cost-saving benefits and access to advanced fleet management solutions, proving that going electric can be both practical and economical for today’s businesses. Whether powered by gas or electric, the 2025 Transit models continue to set a high standard for work vans, helping business owners stay productive, organized, and ready for the demands of the job.
