Ford Otosan, Ford’s branch in Turkey, has been celebrating the revolutionary transformation taking place at its state-of-the-art Yeniköy Assembly Plant. The updated production center includes Advanced solar energy technology, end-to-end management driven by artificial intelligence and noise-reducing assembly lines, among other cutting-edge technologies. The Yeniköy Assembly Plant is where a new generation of Ford Transit Custom vans is currently in production, ready to create a new era of efficiency for Ford’s European commercial vehicles.

The advanced new technology at the Yeniköy Assembly Plant was part of a €2 billion investment in the Ford Otosan production facilities in Kocaeli. This was the largest investment ever in the private sector in Türkiye. The facility is responsible for the production of the all-new Transit Custom, Europe’s best-selling one-ton van, as well as the all-new Tourneo Custom. Volume production on both of these vehicles is expected to begin next year.

The Yeniköy Assembly Plant is setting a new benchmark for automotive manufacturing in Türkiye. Its development is leading the electric transformation of the industry in the region, as it becomes one of the most efficient plants in the entire automotive industry. Innovative solutions like photovoltaic glass walls, solar water heating, “digital twin” virtual manufacturing simulations for optimal efficiency, wireless and rechargeable electric tools, and so much more are turning the facility into a unique example of what production plants of the future can look like.
