The entire driving world is feeling the draw of electric vehicles, including commercial businesses. Companies across the country are considering switching to electric, and many have already done so, leading to a huge demand for charging solutions and fleet management products that make it easier to transition to an electrified fleet and maintain its efficiency. Ford Pro has just announced the release of one such product, a new charging hardware that’s joining its lineup of end-to-end solutions for electric commercial vehicles.

“We’re committed to helping businesses make the transition to electric easy with a single-minded focus on curated commercial charging solutions,” said Ted Cannis, Ford Pro CEO. “With our tailored EV consulting and portfolio of charging hardware and software solutions, we can design, implement and operate solutions for Ford and other brands that will last for many years to come. And we are not afraid to tell customers when electrification is not yet a good fit and support them with other solutions.”

The new hardware is a Series 2 AC Charging Station 80 amp with an expanded DC Fast Charger. The product has been designed especially for commercial use, and includes a wide variety of new and improved features, like enhanced security with RFID that limits unwanted charger access, a new LCD screen that displays step-by-step charging instructions, temperature sensors for safety and efficiency, and more. When paired with Ford Pro’s charging management software, the new hardware creates a fully integrated solution that simplifies charging for Ford EVs as well as non-Ford EVs.

The Ford Pro BEV Fit team has also been hard at work throughout this process, offering complimentary consulting to commercial customers to help identify available incentives, make recommendations on charging site design and construction, and collaborate with local utilities on a company’s energy needs.

Along with this Series 2 Charging Station, Ford Pro is releasing other charging options, like an extended DC Fast Charger in 180kW and 240kW that gives fleet operators and their drivers more versatility, more power, and shorter charge times. These products work with Ford Pro’s smart charging software to ensure that the vehicles in a business’s fleet are charged and ready when they’re needed, making it simple for fleet managers to optimize their EV charging, and even managing utility reimbursement reporting for home-based drivers.

The tools that Ford Pro has to offer Ford’s commercial customers can bring electric commercial vehicles within reach for many businesses, helping them to lower their total cost of ownership, simplify their fleet management, and more.
