2024 Super Duty is Most Appealing Large Heavy-Duty Pickup

J.D. Power and Associates has just released the results of their annual Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout, or APEAL, study. This yearly lineup closely evaluates the experiences that new vehicle owners can expect in the first 90 days after their purchase of a new vehicle, touching on subjects like design, performance, safety, usability, comfort, perceived quality, and other factors. This year proved to be a good year for Ford, as the 2024 Ford F-Series Super Duty was named the most appealing large heavy-duty pickup in the study.

The J.D. Power APEAL study, which aims to quantify and measure owners’ emotional attachment to and level of excitement with their new vehicle, asks participants to rate more than 40 different experiences that they have with their vehicle. These experiences are grouped into 10 categories:

• Walking up to the vehicle
• Setting up and starting the vehicle
• Getting in and out of the vehicle
• The vehicle’s interior
• The vehicle’s powertrain
• The vehicle’s driving feel
• The vehicle’s safety
• The vehicle’s infotainment system
• The vehicle’s driving comfort
•  The vehicle’s fuel usage

This wide variety of topics helps to make the APEAL study a very all-encompassing look at the quality of experience a vehicle can provide.

The 2024 Super Duty also had the honor of being named the 2024 North American Truck of the Year™️ by the North American Car, Truck, Utility Vehicle of the Year jury in January, and J.D. Power recently named the 2021 Super Duty as the most dependable large heavy-duty pickup out of many vehicles evaluated. As a member of the Ford F-Series and one of America’s favorite trucks, these ratings are hardly surprising, but they are still prestigious distinctions that the team at Ford is proud to receive.
